I have helped hundreds of bands, solo artists, and composers successfully reach their artistic goals.

The History
Chris Steinmetz has over 30 years of experience in the recording industry, and has worked on Gold, Platinum, and Grammy-nominated albums. Steinmetz began his career working as a staff engineer for Warner Bros. Records in L.A. on Paul Simon’s Graceland. He has worked with legendary producers such as Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Kiss) and Michael Wagener (Metallica, Skid Row, Alice Cooper). He then logged several years as a freelance engineer before moving back to his native Chicago and becoming Chief Engineer at several of the Windy City’s top recording studios (CRC and Chicago Trax). In 2009, he opened Stonecutter Recording Studios, named after the English translation of Steinmetz.

Chris has worked across a multitude of genres, including pop, hip-hop, rock, metal, indie, R&B, punk and more. His mixes offer clients a one-of-a-kind level of depth and quality, bringing out the best their music has to offer. Steinmetz has proven to be a dynamic figure in the ever-evolving music production landscape.

The Process
Send
Send Chris the stems or Pro Tools session for your project.
Mix
Chris will professionally mix your project, having access to hundreds of plugins and studio-quality digital/analog equipment.
Revise
Listen to Chris’ mix for as long as you like. Revisions are included in the mixing package.
Master
Once Chris has implemented your revisions, he will master the track for you using his vast mastering plugin suite.
Download
Once you are completely satisfied, Chris will send you the final mix for download.
